Last night EFFEN held an event at the Terra Galleria to promote their line of spirits and the local cocktail scene with bartenders from all over the Bay Area.  Bartenders came from the East Bay and even Santa Cruz to compete in the Iron Chef style competition.

There were 10 bartenders total who would later be teamed up into pairs for a total of 5 teams.  A table was set up in the middle of the room with various fruits, vegetables, herbs, spirits and bitters.  It all ranged from dill, mint, rosemary and thyme for the herbs.  Raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, mango and more were some fruit choices.  Vegetables included cucumber, red, green and yellow bell peppers.  There was a rainbow selection of Fee brothers bitters and products.  Spirits ranged from aperitifs, digestifs, vermouths and liqueurs.  The main goal was to create an on the spot cocktail with 5 ingredients off the table using the clear, cucumber, or black cherry EFFEN varieties.  Once someone grabbed something off the table, no one else could use that same product. 

We had 30 minutes to come up with a recipe and start batching cocktails for the public before they came in.  I mean making cocktails and batches for 500 people isn't bad.....but wait.....it turned into 1,200 people!  All of the cocktails were well crafted and there was so many great, talented bartenders who were at the event,  It was quite the honor to work with such wonderful people.

Besides the local bartenders showing off their artistic skills, other EFFEN cocktails were being poured at specific bars.  There was an EFFEN Cucumber Vodka bar, where you could choose which ingredients you wanted in your cocktail.  Last night was all about making people aware of the high quality spirit that EFFEN is and how versatile it can really be.

This was a classy event and was a smashing good time.  EFFEN really knows how to throw a party and put its guests first.  There was great music, delicious well crafted cocktails and smiles to go all around.  If you didn't make it to this event, keep your eyes peeled here, we'll be mentioning some more soon!
